Ahhhh, refreshing water. This is the lake in the awesome subdivision of Lake Asbury in Green Cove Springs Florida. I took this picture from the dam that divides the lake. Lake owners get to enjoy swimming, canoeing, fishing, and boating. Only the the lake owners have access to the 2 boat ramps in the neighborhood, which keeps the boat traffic down. What a wonderful view!

This picture was taken a couple of years ago in the middle of November. It was 80 something that day. I know, you feel sorry for us Floridians, having to put up with such horrible weather. 🙂 This dock is at Trout Creek Community Center in St Johns County off of Collier Road and State Road 16. There’s a double boat ramp, that you can get to Trout Creek, which leads you to the St Johns River. There’s also picnic areas with grills and the center offers senior citizen programs, a place to rent out for events and more. Check out the Trout Creek Community Center Page.

Can you ever get tired of looking at water? I mean, we live in Florida, so we have water everywhere, but I love it. Very calming and looks beautiful. This is the same spot as last week’s photo of the week, except it’s facing to the left of the pier, which is the Shands Pier on the St Johns River in St Johns County.

Someone kind of forgot last week’s photo of the week. Not gonna mention their name tho. 🙂 This week’s photo of the week is of the St Johns River at the Shands Pier, right of of SR 13 in St Johns County.  Not a bad picture considering I took it with my IPhone. You would be surprised, that just to the left of the pier (this was to the right), it was dark and cloudy looking.

Ok, this is not in the Northeast Florida area. I know, what am I showing it for then? Well, it’s pretty cool, that’s why. 🙂 This Choctawhatchee Bay in Destin, Fl. The water is absolutely gorgeous there. As you can see, there are people walking in the water. It’s not a miracle or anything, just a sand barge, that you can dock your boat and get out and do some swimming. There are also vendors who sell hot dogs and other food from their boats. Makes for a fun time.

This photo was taken by the young man in red’s mom. This was from our U16 team a couple of years ago. He has since graduated from high school and is now in college. Excellent goal keeper and all around good person. Look at their faces, all of them were like, whoa dude can get some air! 🙂

A couple of weeks ago, the photo of the week was of a sunset over the St Johns River. This week it’s a sunrise over some houses in my neighborhood right behind me. This is not a recent picture, but I still remember taking it. It’s a pretty awesome shot, but the real thing was even better. It makes me realize that I don’t stop much to smell the roses, or look at sunsets and sunrises. Life gets busy, things have to be handled. We really should make the time to watch the sun rise or to stop and smell the roses.

I know what you’re thinking. Pam Graham, why are you showing a picture of a road? Surely there are plenty of beautiful Florida scenery you can take a picture of! Well, for those of us who live in the Lake Asbury area of Green Cove Springs, this here road, is a beautiful sight! Construction here is almost done. They still need to pave more, closer to the Black Creek bridge and get the lights working at CR 218 and Henley Rd. Won’t be long before we don’t see any more orange on Henley. Well, at least up to the Black Creek bridge.

I stopped at the Shands pier right off of SR13, close to Weedman’s Grocery in St Johns County. What a view it was and I was lucky to have caught this awesome shot when I did.  Hope you enjoy!
