Just recently, the new Baptist Clay Medical Campus opened, featuring an emergency center, medical offices and Wolfson Children’s Specialty Center. What’s the Neighborhood Like?
Chatham Village is a community or if you will, village inside of Fleming Island Plantation. Chatham Village features around 164 single family homes, with square footage starting at a little over 1700 square feet going up to 3600 square feet. Chatham Village is a part of the master Fleming Island HOA and the Fleming Island Plantation Community Development District. What does that mean exactly? Well how about some fun times! Have you seen the super slide at the pool by Lake Ridge North and South? 2 Basketball courts, 2 volleyball courts, a jr Olympic pool and so much more!
What’s Going on Nearby Chatham Village in Fleming Island Plantation?
There’s two golf courses , one in Eagle Harbor and one in the Plantation of Fleming Island . It’s easy to enjoy boating, with a public boat ramp in Eagle Harbor to Doctors Lake, which leads you to the St Johns River. Follow Doctor’s Lake around to Whitey’s Fish Camp, dock your boat and enjoy an awesome meal there. I love their grilled salmon and blackened shrimp. Makes my mouth water just thinking about it. There’s another boat ramp at Knight’s Boat Ramp, just south on Highway 17, by the St Johns River and Black Creek. Fleming Island is not really very big, but size doesn’t mean you have to go to another city to get your shopping done. Super Target, Walmart Super Center, 2 Publix grocery stores, Kohl’s, Applebee’s, Carmike Movie theater, Home Depot and a bunch others. Oh, can’t forget the adoption center for the Clay County Animal Shelter is right by the Sonic, so if you’re looking for a cat or dog, please go check them out.
What School’s Will The Kids Attend?
If you buy a home in Chatham Village in Fleming Island Plantation, the public schools the kids attend are Thunderbolt Elementary, Green Cove Springs Jr High and Fleming Island High School. Always check the Clay County School Board transportation for any zoning changes that may affect your situation.
