Nelson Dr in Orange Park Florida

All about Orange Park

Orange Park is a suburb of Jacksonville, but in the county of Clay. West of the St Johns River, and just south of I295. Many military folks call Orange Park home since NAS Jax is close by. If you’re looking for rural living, Orange Park is not it, BUT there are many neighborhoods that give you that small town feel. The Town of Orange Park,  Moody Ave and Drs Lake Drive are a few that come to mind. If you prefer to be a hop, skip away from shopping, Orange Park has you covered. If you can’t find it in OP, then being close to Jacksonville gives you more opportunities to find what you’re looking for.

Here’s a nifty tool, where you can put in a specific address and find out what schools you are zoned for, and if your child can ride a bus:

South Orange Park

In the video below, south Orange Park is south of Kingsley, Moody Road, Drs Lake Drive and no farther south than Knightboxx road. Moody and Drs Lake Dr offer a slower pace and more scenic route, than Blanding Blvd. I take them frequently, to enjoy the scenery and less crazy drivers. 😁

Here are the neighborhoods mentioned in the video:

North Orange Park

I kinda made a box for North Orange Park. Wells Road, Park St, Blanding Blvd, and part of Kingsley Avenue.

Shopping in Orange Park

First mention is the Orange Park Mall, which is close to I295, off of Wells road and Blanding Blvd. You have your typical grocery stores like Publix, Winn Dixie, Walmart and Aldi. If you’re needing to get sporting equipment we have Academy Sports off of Blanding and Dick’s sporting Goods in the OP Mall. If you’re wanting to decorate your home you need to check out Old Time Pottery (Blanding and Loch Rane) and At Home, off of Wells road. Plan to spend a good hour in there, going up and down the aisles oohing and aahing about the cool things to decorate your home with. Oh and Christmas time in both stores is awesome!

Where to eat in Orange Park

Can we ever not mention food? Nope! A couple of my favorites are One Night Taco Stand  So, what a cool name for a taco stand. Makes me chuckle when I see the name. Lots of tasty options for tacos, that you just can’t get everywhere.  Here’s a local website that offers reviews on the various restaurants, and they break them down by areas. It’s called Jacksonville Restaurant Reviews.  If you want to see what the locals recommend, check out the The Scoop with Jax Restaurant Reviews and ClayEats.

The map below was done manually, so some streets and areas may have missed the boundaries. Town of Orange Park is the smaller darker color. Orange Park is south of Jacksonville Florida.
